FIVE NOMINEES PRESENT AT NOVEMBER LUNCH

The November lunch held at the Novotel in Glen Waverley had an attentive audience to hear from Alison O’Hare, Customer Engagement Director from Mimecast guided us through the threat from Cyber crime. From the basic details to the more in-depth scams Alison highlighted the ease with which people are hoaxed as well as the tips for how to keep away from those emails that you aren’t sure about.

There were five new business nominees from a variety of categories who presented for two minutes each. They wooed the crowd with their innovative presentations and really brought their businesses to life.

The Finance Academy Australia presented first with Chinmay Ananda sharing his experiences in the finance arena and how to make it easy for non accounting people. The Finance Academy is a nominee in the Micro category.

In the franchise category, Ray White Glen Waverley presented their journey from a small real estate agency to today. The community programs that they are now supporting were numerous.

One well known Not For Profit organisation in Monash is the South East Volunteers and their CEO Ann Burgess presented in numbers. From the number of volunteers to how many organisations they support it was a great glimpse of the work they do.

Another nominee in the micro category was My Little Caravan which is a small social enterprise that started as a small caravan transported to children’s parties and now has a permanent base in Monash.

The final presentation was in the Innovation category with Mortgage Miser showcasing their process to reduce debt and the ability to be mortgage free earlier than you thought.
